The scope

Full kitchen reface: new cabinet boxes, walnut counters, a relocated island, and a window over the sink where there used to be a wall.

The kitchen had good bones — a 1948 bungalow with real plaster walls — and cabinets from a 1990s reface that were already failing at the hinges. We kept the footprint, moved the island eighteen inches to open a walking path, and replaced every box rather than refacing over the old ones a second time.

Counters are a single slab of walnut-toned quartz, cut to leave the grain running one direction across the whole run. The window over the sink was not structural to add — the wall it sits in carries no load — which is the kind of detail that makes a fixed-price estimate accurate instead of optimistic.
